Sadly, COVID-19 related deaths in NSW have surpassed 1,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.
NSW Health is today reporting the deaths of 46 people with COVID; including a man in his 60’s from the Bega Valley.
Southern NSW Local Health District expresses its sincere condolences to their loved ones.
It’s the second death in the Bega Valley since the pandemic started with the last reported on Tuesday (January 18).
Southern NSW reported 525 new cases of the virus today.
363 are from PCR tests and 162 from rapid antigen tests.
The south coast has recorded 152 new COVID-19 cases from PCR tests to 8pm last night.
- 42 in the Bega Valley
- 110 in the Eurobodalla
The Bega Valley testing clinic is open at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club weekdays from 8am until 2pm and over the weekend from 9am until 2pm.
People should be alert for any symptoms that could signal COVID-19, including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever.
If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received. If a positive result is received, people must isolate for 7 days since getting tested.
